“The spoken and sung voice is essentially a gesture, in other words a movement of the body in order to express the thought or the feeling.“ (Tarneaud)

The approach of La Voix du geste is based on a unique method that puts the body, consciousness and sensations at the center of creation. It is the pillar that not only allows us to reconcile disciplines that may seem opposed, such as mime and singing, but also push us to go beyond the limits we place on our own creativity and expression.

The basic method is based on the teachings of the clown and director Ira Seidenstein (Cirque du soleil, Slava Snow Show) and allows to give a creative breath as well to the work carried out by clowns as by dancers, actors, singers , improvisers or any other performing arts.

Flavien Renaud

Flavien Renaud - Profile

Artist, Teacher, PhD

Practicing mainly the art of clowning and mime, I am also an improviser, singer as well as a trainer in vocal and body expression. I like to transmit my passion, as much when I am on stage as when I give training.

I hold a PhD in sociology and anthropology from the Graduate Institute of International Studies and Development in Geneva.

I’ve trained for over eight years in improvisation theater. I have created several troupes and participated in numerous shows, in Geneva and Paris.

But it was to devote myself to the art of clowning and mime that I trained in 2018 with Ira Seidenstein (Cirque du soleil, Slava Snow Show) mainly in individual teaching as part of the International School of Acting and Creativity in Australia. This is where I laid the groundwork for a solo mime-clown show, which I played in Australia, Switzerland and France.

Since 2016, I have also been training in voice and singing work, which I integrate into my shows. After completing the cursis of Pleine Voix school (France), I am a trainer in vocal and body expression.

In addition to my solo clown and mime shows, I’ve collaborated in many projects like clowns duos, theater plays, musical theater plays, operas and performances.

I also regularly give trainings: clown workshops for adults; vocal and body expression workshops (also to facilitate public speaking) as well as theatrical improvisation courses. I also do individual coaching for people who want to work on their voice, body expresion or creativity.
